FINISHER #37

Name: Pablo Asselin

Residence: Canada / France

Year of birth: 1999

Bike: Giant Revolt

Riding period: 6 June – 3 September (2024)

Most favourite part: My favorite part was undoubtedly Spain; I saw the most breathtaking landscapes there: deserts , mountains, greenery, small villages, etc…Special mentions for the vast Swedish landscapes and the Jura

Random thoughts: It is difficult to summarize the experience of the European Divide Trail; it is unique and personal to each traveler. Nevertheless, I can draw a few conclusions from my journey. First, the diversity of landscapes that can be observed in Europe is truly incredible; it is an almost endless playground within a relatively small perimeter. Next, I was touched by the generosity of people throughout my journey, regardless of the nationality and social background of those I met. Finally, I come away from this trip with a strengthened love for bikepacking; it is hard to match the feeling of freedom one can experience on a bike. It is the perfect speed to cover distance while enjoying nature, and the community is amazing!
