Most favourite part:
It is difficult to narrow such an epic ride down to a single favorite part. The wild open expanses of Sweden, the lonely stretches of exposed coastline in Denmark, the challenging climbs of Germany, France and Spain all bring back incredible memories. Perhaps the coastline in Denmark was most memorable, as it stood in such direct contrast to the 1700 miles through the Nordic forests that directly preceded it.
Random Thoughts:
Of course everyone has their own reason for taking part in such an adventure. Perhaps it can be viewed as a physical or mental test designed to judge whether one still “has what it takes”. Perhaps it can be viewed as a well defined demarcation that separates chapters in one’s life. For many it is likely a soul expanding experience. For two old guys like us that have already seen much of life, we prefer to view it as a way to tear away the accumulated scar tissue accumulated through the everyday struggles of life – scar tissue that narrows one’s soul during the many different chapters of life.
Thank you again for making it possible for two old boys to saddle up once again to share the experience of a lifetime.
